The Board of Directors of Oasis Petroleum Inc. (NYSE:OAS) has added a new member to its list bringing the number into eight directors. Mr. John E. Hagale became part of the board on July 27, 2016, upon which he was selected for Audit, Nominating, and Governance Committees. In his comments about the appointment, Oasis’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thomas B. Nusz said that Hagale is well versed within the broad oil and gas industry hence he will be a valuable addition to the Oasis Board. Nusz further outlined that the appointee has extensive expertise in financial and corporate governance and the more reason he was seen as a potential candidate to join the respective committees.

The board is confident in its decision about Hagale and is looking forward to moving Oasis into the next level. Hagale who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame will be a useful insight in navigating company within the current macro environment. His more than 30 years of financial and accounting experience have occasioned his holding of senior positions in different high profile companies.
Hagale’s career sparked off from Deloitte Haskins and Sells before moving to other the likes of Burlington Resources Inc. and its predecessor Burlington Northern Inc where he held executive financial positions for 15years. He has also been a Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of The Methodist Hospital System. Mr. Hagale had also served as a Vice President and CFO of Rosetta Resources Inc before the company merged with Noble Energy, Inc.(NYSE:NBL), Inc. Apparently, he has moved across ladders which explain further why he gained favor with the Board of Directors.
Oasis is set to announce its Second Quarter results
The new appointment will be followed by the announcement of the company’s Second Quarter 2016 financial and operational results August 3. Investors, analysts, and other interested parties have been invited to part of a conference call that the company will be hosting on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
