Nokia Corp (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Confirms The Launch Of Their New Smartphones In The U.S.

Nokia Corp (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) has announced the launch of its three Android-powered handsets to the United States of America (USA), following its surprised release at Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The Nokia’s parent company HMD Global declared its three Nokia-branded handsets during the grand event at MWC. The news updates from NASDAQ indicates that Nokia 3 focuses more on converting its phone users towards their first Smartphone, while Nokia 5 is slightly smaller and cheaper than Nokia 6 version.

The Nokia 6 version will however, feature a SnapDragon 430, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5,5 inch 1080p screen and microSD support for extra storage. The news about the Nokia’s initiative in the US was first announced on the Nokia Mobile Twitter Account following a concern raised regarding NOK availability.

The Nokia team confirmed that the new Smartphone handsets will first operate in a ‘plain’ version of Android 7. They are then estimated to lift up the Google’s regular security updates as soon as possible.

However, there are questions that remain unanswered. It is not clear how Nokia plans to distribute the newly launched handsets into the American market. The US market still relies more on subsidized handsets which in general entails network customization of software. This is not what the company previously stated.

Though Nokia is a strong brand globally, its parent company HMD which is well-known in Finland, is still regarded a start-up with limited resources. Hence, sustaining US market network while launching into other markets worldwide might be challenging.

Another subject that requires clarification from Nokia is whether they will indeed launch their latest Smartphone handsets in North America, reached explanation, the Nokia confirmed that they will indeed be present in US and other countries across the world such as Taiwan.

Some of their customers have also demand to know whether other products such as Nokia 3310 would be available in the US market. The company needs to clarify these concerns to ensure that they meet the changing needs, wants, and requirements of their customers in order to compete effectively.
