The former managing director of Visa Inc (NYSE:V), Kevin Jenkins has joined the blockchain payments and identity brand Nuggets. This new development is expected to give a major boost to the expansion plans of the company. As per the report, Nuggets wants to team up with financial institutions in Europe and other parts of the world.
According to a blog post by Nuggets, Jenkins will be working as a non-executive director and will bring years of valuable experience on the board of the company.
Jenkins expertise expected to accelerate progress for Nuggets
In the last few years, Nuggets have made a rapid progress across the world in the payments area, more so in China. It is expected that as the company is planning its progression worldwide, the expertise of Jenkins will surely help to accelerate the pace of its progress further. According to the CEO and founder of Nuggets, Alastair Johnson, “Kevin is a true payments pioneer, with an amazing reputation for establishing partnerships with financial Institutions, technology partners, retailers and e-commerce providers. He’ll help us build the relationships we need to roll out the product as quickly as possible.”

Jenkins has a long experience in the field of introducing digital innovations and has held topmost positions at both Mastercard Inc (NYSE: MA) and Visa. He has a good practice of working within the periphery of regulated environments, enhancing the customer payments journeys and managing changes in the government strategies in both digital and physical world.

According to Jenkins the existing businesses model that hold personal information requires fundamental change because the customers are frustrated due to the long payments journey. Jenkins revealed that studies have shown that the multiple steps that the payment moves through leads to security fears. However, Jenkins is pretty impressed by Nuggets as it has been successful in optimizing a balance between both convenience and security which the payments industry has been trying to achieve since decades.
