Valmie Resources (OTCMKTS:VMRI) Uses Drone Technology to Drive Its Recent Success

One stock on my radar yesterday that really had a good day trading was Valmie Resources, Inc. (OTCBB:VMRI) having gained nearly 12 percent on heavy volume before closing at $1.73 per share, which is still a nice 3 percent gain. Liquidity is very attractive to investors so they can get in and out of trades at will, and VMRI has no problem with this attribute. Average daily volume is 593,283 shares, but there have been several days this month where VMRI has crossed the one and two million shares traded mark in a single session. VMRI has a market capitalization of $115.78 million and a 52-week range between $0.10 and $3.43 per share, so the potential for a run is always there.

Now, to the really interesting part about what it is that VMRI actually does… Drones are the future and as you’ve seen how popular they’ve gotten in the past few years, it’s hard to argue what applications are coming for the budding technology. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:MZN) and Alphabet, Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are leading the way in this exciting new sector with investments left and right. One day in the very near future, you will be able to order a cup of coffee from Starbucks Corp. (NASDAQ:SBUX) via an application in your car and have it delivered to your vehicle by a drone in just a few minutes. With society becoming more and more dependent on technology and less patient when it comes to delivery times, companies like VMRI have an exciting future ahead.

Of course delivery is just one application of drone technology. When someone wants to showcase a ranch or hunting property, they used to have to rent an airplane and do expensive flyovers with handheld cameras to shoot undesirable footage. Now thanks to companies like VMRI potentially teaming up other cutting edge companies like GoPro (GPRO), those days are over. Today, you just grab your remote control with a video feedback monitor and pilot the VMRI drone with a GoPro camera on the bottom of it while you fly over the entire property delivering video quality free of any shakiness and interference.

Marketing is also very important for VMRI to get its name out there with all the right people so to speak. Recently, VMRI’s wholly owned subsidiary Vertitek qualified with one of its drones to take part in the U.S. Drone Nationals Race to be featured on ESPN from August 5 through 7, 2016.

“Strategic alliances have played a significant role in Valmie’s growth objectives, with two successful collaborations in the past 16 months,” said Gerald B. Hammack, President and CEO of Valmie Resources, in a press release. “In February, Valmie secured its 333 Exemption to operate commercially two UAV’s that are manufactured by Vertitek, placing us in a prime position to begin to capture a share of the market in this exploding sector. Valmie and Vertitek consider it a privilege to be pioneering in this exciting new racing field. No longer an underground movement, drone racing has now become an authentic sport.”
